Baby Doll Workshop by Daria Gosset/Petit Gosset from the US; date: October 16-17 in Zandpol, the Netherlands

                  .

Join Daria for a two-day, in-person baby doll workshop - an engaging and immersive hands-on experience designed for those eager to capture the unique features of a sleeping newborn: the gentle puffiness around closed eyes, the soft contours of a peaceful face, and all the delicate details that bring this quiet innocence to life.

Prefer a wide-eyed little one instead? You’ll also have the option to create a baby with open eyes, bringing a different kind of charm and personality to your doll.

This workshop is perfect for experienced dollmakers seeking to refine their techniques and deepen their skills, as well as for adventurous beginners with some hand-sewing experience (We’ll be using running and ladder stitches throughout the process).

With step-by-step guidance, you’ll create a Waldorf-inspired art doll (approximately 33 cm tall) using beautiful, high-quality natural materials. We’ll explore baby proportions compared to those of an older child, sculpt a serene, needle-felted face full of sweetness and charm, and shape a smooth body filled with soft wool and glass beads for a comforting, natural weight. Finally, you’ll finish your doll with a fluffy hairstyle made from lovely DollyMo mohair.

Over the course of the workshop, you’ll develop both technical skills and creative insight - leaving not only with a finished doll, but with renewed inspiration and the confidence to continue exploring your artistic path.

When and where:

The class will take place over two days -Thursday and Friday, October 16-17th -from approximately 9:00 AM to 6:30 PM.

We’ll gather in the beautiful studio at Kamrin’s Craft Cottage - a warm, welcoming space filled with charm and creative energy. In addition to our time together in class, you’ll have the chance to explore the cottage’s thoughtfully curated collection of dollmaking materials, tools, and handmade goods - everything you might need to nourish your creativity and spark fresh inspiration. It’s the kind of place where ideas begin to bloom the moment you step inside.

What's the price and what's included:

The full price for this workshop is €490.
A non-refundable deposit of €70 (equivalent to approximately $82 USD) is required to secure your spot. The remaining balance will be due on the first day of the workshop.

The workshop fee includes lunch on both days, a doll pattern with a photo tutorial, and all materials needed to create your doll - except for the DollyMo mohair yarn used for the wig.

As there won’t be enough time to complete the wig during our in-person class, we’ll begin our journey with an online Zoom session in mid-September. During this class, I’ll guide you through crocheting a wig cap using DollyMo mohair yarn, so you’ll have a finished wig ready to bring with you to the workshop in October. You’re welcome to source the DollyMo mohair yarn from your preferred shop or order it directly from Kamrin's Craft Cottage.

While we won’t have time to make clothes during the workshop, as a special bonus, you’ll receive a PDF pattern for a surprise doll outfit in September - just in time to make something lovely for your little woolly baby ahead of the workshop.

Daria can't wait to meet you in October! If can find more info here. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Daria at petitgosset@gmail.com.
